Privacy Policy

Grounded builds and operates the booking, communication, and job-management software used by independent home-service contractors. If you got here from a contractor's free-inspection page or from a contractor's customer portal, your service relationship is with that contractor. We are the software they run on, processing your information on their behalf. This page covers what we, as the software operator, collect and do with it.

Information you give us directly: name, phone number, email address, property address, and answers to questions in a free-inspection or estimate form.

Information about your property: satellite/aerial imagery of your roof, storm and weather records for your address, and a measurement- or estimate-based cost range.

Consent and communication records: if you check the box to be contacted, we record the exact consent text you agreed to, the time, the page you were on, and technical identifiers (IP address, browser) at that moment. Every text, email, and phone call attempt is logged.

Technical information: standard web request data (IP address, browser/device type), and, for emails we send, whether the email was opened and whether a link in it was clicked.

• To schedule and confirm your inspection or appointment, and remind you about it.
• To generate the roof report and cost estimate you asked for.
• To let the contractor you contacted reach you about your request.
• To send you a limited number of follow-up messages if you started but didn't finish a request. Every one of these includes a working unsubscribe link, and we honor it.
• To keep the legal record of consent required by telemarketing law (see "How long we keep information" below).
• To detect fraud, keep the system secure, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

• The contractor you contacted. They receive your name, contact details, address, and the estimate/report, because that is the entire point of the request.
• Service providers we use to run the platform. These include email delivery, text messaging, satellite imagery, address lookup, Do-Not-Call list screening, and payment processing. Each only receives what it needs to do its job, under a contract that restricts further use.
• Financing, if you choose to apply. If a contractor's page offers homeowner financing, it is financing powered by Figure; Figure Lending LLC is the lender, not us or the contractor. If you start a financing application, the information you enter goes directly to Figure, governed by Figure's own privacy policy, not this one.
• Law enforcement or legal process. We share information only when required by law, or to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.

Most of your information is kept for as long as your relationship with the contractor is active, and for a reasonable period after in case of a warranty claim or dispute.

Consent records are the one deliberate exception. The record of your consent to be contacted is kept permanently and cannot be edited or deleted through the software once created. The database itself refuses the operation. This exists to protect you as much as us: it is the proof, if it is ever needed, of exactly what you agreed to and when. If you ask us to delete your information (see below), this record is the one thing we keep, and we'll tell you exactly why.

• Unsubscribe from email. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it stops that email immediately.
• Stop texts. Reply STOP to any text message at any time.
• Ask for a copy of your data. Contact the contractor you worked with, or reach us directly (below), and we'll provide what we have on file.
• Ask us to delete your data. We will remove your name, email, phone, and address from our active systems. We keep the consent record (see "How long we keep information") and records a contractor is legally required to keep, like a signed contract, and we'll tell you specifically what was kept and why.

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections, access controls, and audit logging of every change to sensitive records, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee against every possible breach, but we treat contact information and consent records as sensitive by default, not as an afterthought.

This service is directed at adults arranging home-service work. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

If we materially change how we handle your information, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the update.
